Electrolysis, hair removal, filament

How is the hair removed?

A small needle, the size of a hair, is inserted into the hair follicle.  A low-level current is then applied for a few seconds. The hair is then released and gently removed with tweezers. Each session takes time as each hair is individually treated, but with a proper treatment plan, it’s a permanent solution to unwanted hair.

Is it safe and effective?

While laser hair removal is only effective for hair reduction, it's also not effective on people with blond, red or white hair.  Electrolysis is effective on ALL hair colours and hair types and it is the ONLY treatment that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) describe as permanent.

Where can electrolysis be done?

It is commonly used to remove hair on the:

  • Face - eyebrows, upper and lower lips, cheeks, chin, hairline, between eyebrows, sideburns.
  • Body - neck, shoulders, arms, underarms, breasts, abdomen, bikini line, legs, back, chest.

Who uses it?

Anyone wanting to permanently eliminate unwanted hair. Whether you have red, blonde or white hair, electrolysis works on all hair colour and types. If you have a darker skin tone, it is safer and more effective than alternative methods like laser.  I offer a discreet and welcoming environment for all.

Does it hurt?

You will have discomfort, like a stinging sensation during treatment. Some people use numbing cream or a pain reliever an hour before their treatment. After treatment, your skin may be red, inflamed and tender, but these temporary side effects should subside within a few hours. Each person has a different pain tolerance, and many people find that their pain tolerance increases with treatments.

How many treatments does it take?

The total number of treatments will vary from area to area and person to person.  Your hair type, location, hormones, and previous removal methods used all affect your treatment.

For course hair, like beards or bikini line for example, more sessions will be needed.

Your treatment may take up to 18 months, but with sessions spaced apart. Once you're done though, you're done!
